Atty. Vanessa Gayoma Silla, a graduate of the inaugural cohort of the West Visayas State University - College of Law, is a highly accomplished Junior Associate at the Florete Law. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar on January 24, 2025.

During her legal studies, Atty. Silla distinguished herself as a proficient advocate and legal scholar. She was a key member of the Vox Populi Debate Team, achieving First Runner-Up in the 1st Justice L. Hilarion Aquino National Memorial Debate Competition and receiving the Best Debater award. She contributed to her team's First Runner-Up placement in the 2023 OADR Moot Court Competition.

She also served as Contribution Editor for the maiden issue of the student-run publication, Journal for Law Advocacy. Notably, she has authored three scholarly articles on pertinent contemporary legal issues, namely: (1) A Law Written in Blood: Analysis of Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020; (2) Civiliter Mortuus! The Slave of the State; and (3) Is Biotechnology a Threat to the Environment?

Atty. Silla acquired valuable practical legal experience through externships and apprenticeships at the Public Attorney’s Office, a private law firm in Iloilo, and the Municipal Trial Court - Oton.

Atty. Silla demonstrates her commitment to alternative dispute resolution as a member of the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators. This affiliation reflects her dedication to expanding her expertise beyond traditional litigation, and underscores her interest in fostering efficient and equitable resolution of disputes through arbitration. Her involvement with the Institute signifies her proactive approach to professional development within the legal field, and her dedication to upholding the highest standards of alternative dispute resolution practice.

With remarkable efficiency, she commenced her professional journey at the Florete Law as a paralegal, joining the firm a few days after completing the Philippine Bar Exam.

Atty. Silla’s academic excellence, including graduating Salutatorian from Holy Rosary Academy - Molo and attaining University Scholar status at the University of the Philippines - Visayas, underscores her dedication to achieving the highest standards of professional competence.
